The great thing about this timer is that it works fine with a 3-way switch. The designers of this timer tried to keep it very simple, with minimal buttons. If you've ever had to set a device with only one or two buttons you know that is a bad idea. The procedure to set this timer is quite complex. It fills a non-standard page with teeny writing. Unfortunately recently I have had to reset mine enough times that I have just about memorized the steps. The reason for this is that every blink of our power system causes the clock to reset. My previous timer had an internal battery for the clock. That would be a huge improvement for this one.One other point. We have 5 outdoor coach lights on this timer. When we used only LED lamps (bulbs), sometimes one of them would flicker. I think there is a small leakage current through the timer that can be enough to light certain LEDs. Replacing one LED with an incandescent lamp takes care of the problem.
