I didn't use this for chess and just wanted two timers to count up alternatively and reset when I pressed a button. There is no timer reset button but it's easy to hack, I soldered a wire from the active-high reset signal test pad to the plus button test pad so pressing the plus button resets the timer. I didn't need the functionality of the plus button anyway. This way you can hit start, it begins counting, you can use the toggle switch on the top to switch timers as needed, and eventually you can hit the plus button to reset it without having to flip the power switch on the bottom.Note for anyone else wanting to hack this thing it uses a glob-top microcontroller that also drives the display which limits your options. You do have easy access to the reed switch for the top toggle button, the three pushbuttons, the power switch and the battery though. But driving the display would take some serious modifications.
