I was in the middle of doing my laundry and SNAP, the little knob controlling the dryer "gave up the ghost." I have become a little more adept in fixing the little things around the house and I just pulled off the knob, assessed whether the knob could be fixed by me - no - so I decided to give AMAZON a look and VIOLA - there was the exact replacement I needed. Came within a couple of days, and now I can dry my clothes again. I am not totally lazy, I did hang the laundry outside for the two days I was waiting for the knob!Perfect! Even though we couldn't tell from the listing, it had the same numbers on the back as the old, cracked one. 13318733, KIP-2198. Only difference is the indicator mark is black instead of blue.At first it seemed not to fit flush as others had commented, but then we noticed that it had a metal insert that the old one didn't seem to have. We found that the old one was still on the shaft attached to the dryer. After we very easily removed it with pliers, the new one fit perfectly.Does seem quite expensive for what it is, though. This know looks identical to the one I replaced, however, it does not fit flush to the dryer, there's a gas of about 1/2 inch. Still works....but the hole in the stem of the knob is not drilled out deep enough. Soooo...for $ 20 + dollars for a $0.20 CENT piece of plastic...……...just saying. Probably should have just bought some GENERIC knob at the hardware store that would have worked for about $3 bucks. This is a replacement for the knob on my combination washer dryer. It is plastic with a small metal clip inside to hold it one timer. I doubt that the knob cost more than a dollar to manufacture. A local parts dealer wanted more than $40 for this knob, but he said it was a lifetime and they would replace it should it break (fine if they manage to stay in business longer than other part suppliers have). Also that suggested to me that the knob is known for breaking. Other knobs from the same manufacturer run as cheap as $6. Why is this knob so expensive? Are appliance parts becoming like generic pharmaceuticals? If this one breaks, I'll be looking for another solution. This came today. Fits and works perfectly. Happy to not have to use pliers to turn to dryer setting. Grateful to have found correct part for this 17 year old washer/dryer combo. Made my day.It was a a Frigidaire. It worked perfectly. A bet pricey. It fits my mothers whirlpool stacked washer/dryer. I randomly punched in the serial number on the back of the knob which steered me directly to amazon. A bit pricy for a piece of plastic but saved my mother a service call which would have cost several times more.I almost bought one of those less expensive replacement knobs but many of the reviews said the metal clip that holds the knob on the stem was missing on the cheap ones. I checked to make sure that wasn't a complaint with this knob before I bought it. So far it works fine. If fits. It turns. No problems. At first I thought I had ordered the wrong one, because the button didn't slide all the way onto the steel shaft, instead it ended up sticking out about half an inch from the front face of the panel. But, I read other reviews on this product and someone mentioned that the old, broken knob can sometimes leave behind a little metal sleeve on the steel mounting pin, and that can prevent the new knob from sliding all the way back as it should. Sure enough, I found a tiny metal sleeve, presumably from the old knob, wrapped around the steel pin. Once I pulled that off, the new knob fits absolutely perfectly, and works like new. Finally I can put the pliers away. I will dock one star from this review just because it's crazy expensive for what it is - their production cost for these can't be much more than a buck or two per unit. I wonder if these knobs are like the printer ink of the home appliance industry.Perfect fit to install on my 18 year old washer and dryer. This part seems to be a universal fit for various Frigidaire stackable washer and dryer combos. A bit expensive side for a plastic knob but saved me $2,000 having to buy a new knob.El botón era justo el que necesitaba, quedó perfecto y llegó antes del tiempo indicado.Recomendado al 100%Exactly as described, Perfect fit. Now I can use the timer on my dryer with ease and gladly put my pliers away. A+++Was still wrong but at the price I'm using it anyway. Depth of button was deceiving in the photo
