Remote control not as described. Instructions in package for remote with timerI bought one of these as an option to putting a real candle close to my ceiling which I thought might leave smoke marks.I didn't think tell my wife so when she saw it she praised me for finding a candle that looked so good in the decorative lantern (she loved the red).It ran the whole evening and she commented about it several times. When we were going upstairs she reminded to put it out so we didn't "burn the house down".It was only at this point I realized that she didn't know it was an LED candle.When I told her she was shocked and had to get within a couple feet to see that it wasn't a flame.She liked it so much she bought another but didn't get the same brand, right away we could tell the other wasn't a flame from across the room so we ended up returning that one and buying two more of this brand in the 5 and 9 inch sizes.I'm not one to endorse a brand often but this brand seems to be much better than others when it comes to the realistic flame effect.A couple of lessons learned.One remote works for all of them so you can walk around with one and turn on and off all of them, the remote doesn't have much range so I wouldn't suggest putting them up too far out of reach.They use two D batteries which can be expensive even though it runs a long time on those batteries. We invested in rechargeable D batteries so we light them almost every evening until bed time.They make the room feel cozy even when just watching TV.It’s a beautiful red- tall and bright. Good buyThis candle exceeded my expectations. It looked so realistic. The wick moved and danced like a real flame. Also, it was not orange, but rather the color was that of a real flame. The timer worked faultlessly. One of the best candles I have purchased.First one died after 5 months, second one has been malfunctioning since 2 months. Only occasionally turns on with on switch or timer...not very useful if I can't predict when it will work. Very bad durability/qualityI wanted candles that are tall because my windows are very big. When I received them, I realized that they are very wide too. Guess that's why they are expensive.I own 6 of the Lumina candles and can honestly cannot see much of a difference. The Aglery has a lighter plastic casing, but a more "yellow" colored LED flame. What really blew me a way, was the Aglery remote. Lumina remote range is/was less than 6". The Aglery remote range is up to 6 feet! A HUGE improvement! But thats not all! My Aglery remote works just as well on my Luminara candles! AMAZING! I'll be buy a LOT more of these cangles.
