Taco supplies no user guide so it's trial and error for the initial user setup. They only offer very limited information on their website. Most of what I've learned about the product has been from other owners posting information on websites other than Amazon. The product offers two modes of operation, pulsing on/off 24/7 which yields and enormous energy bill and memory mode. Memory mode tracks household usage for one week to set up on/off times based on that usage. But according to other users input it only memorizes "major" water usage events (presumably tasks like showers, laundry and dish washing) but not small events like hand washing, length water running time to trigger a usage setting is unknown. If the power goes out or you unplug the unit, the memory gets erased. So during the next "memory setting week" we try to time our usage to specific times of the day to create a more useful memory in the unit, a lot of trouble. I wish I had not bought the unit. It wouldn't be difficult to provide more user friendly programming in this item and a customer friendly user manual. It may be possible to plug this device into a programmable on/off timer with multiple time settings but then why buy this expensive unit. I would not recommend this unit unless high energy bills are not an issue for you. I would not buy it again.
