I've been looking to replace manual "clockwork" spring-loaded countdown timers for heater circuit of the Panasonic Whisperquiet ceiling Fan/Heater Combo units in each of my two bathrooms. I tried 4 or 5 other brands of digital countdown timers but I had to return them all as none of them could handle the load of this heater and seemed to be designed to handle only the load created by a fan alone or a light. This works great and has two other advantages over all of the others that I've looked at: 1. While it has 5 pre-set numbers of minutes to shut-off, it's easily re-programmable as well. 2. The manufacturer sells a wide range of alternative faceplates in different colors and with a variety of combinations of pre-set times to suit most folks' needs. While I wasn't able to find a black faceplate to match those of the switches and switchplates in my place, I got something pretty close and this works fine with me. Having it look a little different from the rest may be an advantage in that visitors are more likely to look twice at what button they're pushing and are less likely to unwittingly put on the heater when what they want is a light.All in all, I can highly recommend this line of well-designed countdown-timers.
