The magnet glue failed in transit. Right out of the box, I had to glue it back together. Otherwise, it seems to work okay. Couldn't figure out where else to tell Amazon about this. I was hoping this timer would be better than the junk ones that are being offered on various sites. This was not a good start!I am so disappointed in this product. It's a bit on the expensive side for an old-fashioned crank timer, but I have always used the dial timers in the kitchen and loved the way this one looked and wanted one that would stick to the side of the fridge. From the very beginning, every few times I would use it, it would unaccountably stop before finishing the allotted time. Several times, I would go in to check remaining time and find it stopped at 10, 20, whatever minutes, and me not knowing how long left for dish being cooked/baked. The other day I burned delicious food and in disgust am throwing it away and buying a digital with a magnet from the hardware store. Total bummer and waste of money.P.S. Before you ask, yes I know to crank it past 55 minutes and then back to chosen time. Like I said, I've always used the crank timers.Pros:- Big knob- Magnet makes it handy in the kitchen- I prefer the the numbers moving. Labeled on 5'sCons:- Magnet isn't strong enough to hold it while cranking- Knob easily comes out of base- Timer doesn't always start, even when cranking all the way around and then back.- Notch on outer ring kis kind of hard to see; I added a sticker to mine.- A soft coating on the magnet is starting to come off. It's such a bummer this item is of such low quality. It looks very cool on my refrigerator. Unfortunately, that's all it does. At present, I have two expensive refrigerator magnets after purchasing three. The first one worked for about a year or so. Figured I just received one that was tweaked along the way. Gave Frieling the benefit of the doubt. Purchased two from Amazon in 2015, one for work and one for home. The first one broke right out of the box. The magnet fell out. The second one could track time but the bell didn't work. In total, I've spent 42 dollars and have two magnets to show for it., Total waste of money. Keep looking.I've been using this timer for nearly three years, and it's worked very well for me. I like the ring, which is loud enough but not too loud, and the timer looks good on my refrigerator. I don't care for having to turn the knob to 60 minutes first before setting it, but it's a minor inconvenience. The knob did come apart from the base once, but it easily went back on. All in all, I'm happy!Cannot believe how badly this performed...first it came with the magnet unattached. After gluing it on it seemed fine until the ringer rang - the most anemic little sound! I opened the door of the oven where it was and it fell apart...not where I glued it, but the dial fell off of the housing!!!! It now does not work at all. I had it for 2 days!I bought this timer but returned it, as the magnet is not strong enough to hold it still while being set with one hand, but also, far more importantly, it is inaccurate and difficult to use. The springs must be badly balanced or something, and this might not apply to all units, but when I set the timer for 1 hr it immediately slipped to 25 minutes, and then moved far too quickly to finish (within 3 minutes or so) before emitting a weak bell. Poor design, poor quality, inaccurate and overpriced. Shame, as I've had this type of timer before (though not this brand) and it was fine.Absolute rubbish. Returned first one as bell didn't ring and replacement was faulty as well so gave up and got a refund. Shame as the design was nice. Maybe a faulty batch but wouldn't risk buying again. The timer works well and is accurate. You have to turn the dial fully then back to the required time to get a longer ring, which I would have preferred to be a bit louder. But that's minor criticism given that I bought it primarily as an oddball item to make the freezer look like a safe; it does that job brilliantly!I bought 2 of those and both were useless. When they work, which is rare, the ringing last for less than 1 second, which means that you might miss it when there are noises around. They are both now in the rubbish bin.Looks good - its a fun timer to stick on the fridge. Makes it look like the fridge has a lock.
