I bought this for watering some plants while I was away on vacation to keep the plants alive. I have not left for the vacation yet, but I hooked everything up and have been checking it to be sure it worked before I left.I would recommend installing an auto schedule in case the timer goes offline while you are away. That would give you a backup in case you could not manually turn it on. My timer goes offline sometimes but with the auto schedule programmed, I can be more confident in the plants getting water to keep them alive.Update.... I had a problem. They had great customer service and took care of it. Kristy helped with the problem. Worked great while on vacation and probably kept my plants alive. I set up sprinklers with this and a camera to check operation. It worked great.Installed this for my cousin in her condo since she always traveling… make sure hub is close to the wifi router if not you will have problems connecting it to the app and the app is a bit confusing at first but over all great product so farWe have a vacation home and it is so nice to just grab the phone and water the plants. We also have it on a daily schedule. Control at your finger tips. Love it!!User friendly - easy to install & work seamlessly. 5 starPro -The product quality is good and you can just buy the additional timers.Timer works as advertised and I have more control on watering.Cons -Wish there were more watering plans or you could add more customization . MaybeHub took longer to setup. As it would not connect in EZ mode. AP mode is recommended.There is ‘smart’ function but the interface is not very intuitive and confusing to use.I had previously gotten a competitor's product from a big-box store and could not get it to work. I initially got it connected, but it kept dropping the connection even if I was sitting right beside it. (It used some funky Bluetooth connection that wasn't actually real Bluetooth.)This one, on the other hand, was an absolute breeze to set up. I plugged in the wall hub indoors just on the other side of the wall where my hose bib is installed. After installing the app on my phone, I was able to quickly and easily connect to the hub and get it connected to our wifi. After that, I installed the batteries in the timer controller itself and connected it to the hub just as easily. From unboxing, I had it all set up and watering our new sapling in about 10 minutes.The timer includes a weather-delay function, which is based on the installed location. So it only waters on days when it hasn't rained in the previous 24 hours. I also set up the timer to run its entire watering cycle while I'm still asleep - I don't have to run out in the morning and turn it on and then off again. And I get an alert on my phone when it starts and stops.The manual override is simple to use as well - just push the button to start, and push again to stop.This is exactly what I wanted in an irrigation timer, and so far it works flawlessly.Replacement arrived from Amazon. It connected to Wi-Fi and timer - first attempt. I have revised this review to reflect the performance of the second, fully functional replacement timer.The first timer sent by Amazon was a returned failed device. It was sent out as a new item. It wasn’t new.It was defective.You don’t know that and have to make sure it’s not user error. What a waste of time.It had none of the packaging in the box that the replacement has. Also, the item I returned had batteries in it, proving it was previously used. This timer does not include batteries from the manufacturer.The new replacement 1 zone water timer came with no batteries- as the literature says. The first one never should have been shipped. It wasted a lot of time testing it and returning it. Not sure who screwed up but they caused needless aggravation and inconvenience.I love that I can set up a plan when to water and how much, or also set to water for a set amount of time from anywhere I have cell phone service.
