This timer was really cheap and easy to install, BUT, not all the features will work with this timer.Don't know how long this will last, but it fixed a problem with the dryer heat failing.I'm not an expert on appliances, but from what I read online the way to tell if this part isn't working is if you get heat on Automatic Dry but not on the other settings. If you don't get any heat on any setting then you probably need a new heater element or one of the associated switches that are mounted on the same bracket. Those usually come with a new heater element. The timer on our Maytag dryer quit working. I searched YouTube for installation instructions. Easy repair. I searched Amazon for the correct part number and found it. Rather than risk the repair on a cheaper generic part, I selected the slightly more expensive exact part number. When it arrived, it was the identical part that I removed; same manufacturer, part number, and country of origin. After wrestling the dryer around in our small laundry room, it was a 10 minute repair and works exactly like the original. I took the failed part apart and found the welded contacts that kept the timer from advancing. Thanks to Amazon and YouTube I have a working dryer again.I couldn't believe how pricey this timer was, and when I got it I understood why - they've built a whole bunch of electronic brains into it. This thing controls the heat-sensor timer (which had quit working a year or two ago) and it also controls the regular timed drying (which went belly up this year). Replacing the timer solved both problems. I'm upset that they designed this dryer in such a way that the most expensive part is the first thing to go, but I'm glad it solved two problems at once and I didn't have to buy another dryer. Thumbs up for the easy fix, thumbs down for the price and design. So much for the Maytag name.I'm a researcher guy and look for a replacement part to extend the use of my Whirlpool dryer. This one worked perfectly and was super easy to install. It has held up great and I am not disappointed. I would purchase from this vendor again.I can confirm this fits dryer number WED5200VQ1.Only one of my dryer cycles was getting hot (the automatic one), and then eventually only about half of that cycle would run, then finally it would take several minutes to find a spot the dial could be in and have the dryer actually start. After some googling it sounded like the timer was bad and that did end up being what it was.The install is very easy. 4 bolts 1/4 inch hex to get the panel off to access the part, 2 more bolts also 1/4 inch hex to remove the part. The cable ends are made so that you can't hook the wrong cable up to the wrong place. Like a 15 minute job tops. I can't say whether this is a good price compared to compatible parts from other vendors but it sure beats buying a new dryer. Our dryer timer would not advance. After troubleshooting the issue, the most logical fix was the dryer timer. Some "fix-it-yourself" websites said the drying cycling thermostat had a high probability to fix the problem. To test it, I put the dial to a 10 minute air fluff cycle. This removes any heat from the troubleshooting equation. The timer would not advance, hence it was faulty.Ordered from Amazon on Saturday arrived on Tuesday. O.E.M. part that worked.Fairly simple to replace. Protective cover attached by four screws. Five total connectors and two screws that hold the timer in place.Very pleased with the part, the price, and saving money on doing the labor personally. The timer on my dryer has been running for the past 2 years, I figured it was just dying so I didn't worry about it, I didn't want to spend $100 to get rid of the noise. It drove my wife crazy to hear it.For Valentines Day, as a sign of love I had my 13 year old son replace it. (he is not mechanically inclined at all, but got it done in about 15 minutes)Our dryer hadn't been heating up properly for weeks. The heat would only work some of the time. I would have to run it multiple times to dry one load and forget anything heavy like jeans or towels. My husband had done some troubleshooting and all the normal issues seemed find and then we came across a post of the timer and I seemed to fit our problem. We ordered from Amre Supply and were really impressed by how quickly it was shipped. I order around noon it was shipping a couple hours later and arrived within 48hrs. The timer was as described and fixed the problem! I have my dryer back!Ordered it on a saturday night, received it less then 48h later without a Prime account. Has a G on the sticker as in gas but same part anyway (mine is electrical). 10 minutes to change it without any hassle. Expensive for what it is, but worth it anyway as it saved my 2012 dryer. Best price, thanks to Amazon, but think about it: the new dryer was 275$ from Sears back then. The timer alone, such a stupid simple electromechanical part: 110$. So absurd, thanks to Whirlpool...Factory OEM Part brand new in sealed pkg.exactly as described. Arrived early. Our drier stopped heating, suspected one of the resistors etc as usually the case after looking at the wiring diagram and checking everything with my multimeter it was the timer that was the fault. Replaced with this one and working like new.Didn’t have heat in my dryer and checked with a multimeter and found an issue on my old timer on the red and black wires. I ordered this part and thankfully we now have heat in our dryer!!! Be sure to clean your ducting too just in case. Thank you for this product.Worked great in my dryer
