28" FLAME&SHADE Electric Fireplace Heater - Freestanding Portable Space Heater with Digital Thermostat, Timer & Remote Control - Perfect for Bedroom, Living Room & Office Warmth

I moved into a 60s ranch house and wanted to add a fireplace. I thought about framing one into the living room wall but decided to convert a credenza instead. Once it was prepped all I had to do was slide in the insert, plug it in and enjoy the view - and the heat. I left room behind and above the unit for air circulation but the only heat radiating is out the front - where it should be. Great purchase.We install this fireplace in our RV and it works great and looks great.Item recieved as advertised very nice unit.We like the Flame and Shade. We put it into our motorcoach and it was super easy to install. It has two heat settings and six flame appearance settings. It is very light and logically designed. After we did the woodwork to fit the unit it literally took 10 minutes to install and it started right up. The reason I gave it 3 stars was because the black paint on the surround was not adhered to the metal and flaked off on one corner when we took it out of the box. There was a dent in the back of the unit which lead me to the conclusion that the unit they sent me may have been previously returned by another customer, there was a “Kohl’s” paper in the box. The unit had no plastic around it. Since I needed this unit and there was no functional issues I did not return it. They should have sold it as a “second”. The unit works fine.Heats well, looks great! quiet!Great heater and realistic flames. Fairly easy install. I installed this in a cabinet in my Motorhome. Hardest part was the insert cavity build.Only downside was method to cavity insertion mounting as the glass and front frame attaches from the rear so holes had to be drilled and new longer black screws had to be supplied and screwed in to allow front access to remove the frame and glass for cleaning/maintenance, if needed.Recommend adding insert cavity dimension requirements and a start timer capability.I haven't used my gas fireplace in years. Honestly I was afraid to, but this insert was the perfect solution. After capping the gas pipe off, it was an easy fit (well the length was shorter than needed but that was my measuring fault). There is an obvious sound when the heater is on but nothing my tv sound cant cover. I would recommend it, it was a good purchase.Hermosa, muy funcional
