Did our Creator YHWH predict the coming of the Messiah in the Festivals given to Israel? Is there reasonable grounds to believe that a Jewish man named Yeshua fulfilled some of these Biblical holydays as claimed in the New Testament? What Biblical evidence is there to believe Yeshua will fulfill the remaining Biblical holydays at his second coming ?In his new book and video production, God’s Day Timer: The Believer’s guide to Divine Appointments, Pastor Mark Biltz explores these thrilling questions and many more.I’ll admit this is not the first time I’ve read or watched someone explain how the Bible’s holy days are living examples or rehearsals of our Creators redemptive plan for mankind, but few authors are able to share their enthusiasm and love for the subject like Pastor Mark Biltz. In this DVD Mr. Biltz looks at the following Biblical festivals in light of our Creator, YHWH’s redemptive plan for mankind:• Passover• Unleavened Bread• Firstfruits• Shavout (Pentetcost)• Trumpets• Yom Kippur• Tabernacles* * *Unfortunately this subject doesn’t come without its own controversy. The Christian church today has inherited Biblical traditions which in some cases have been sanitize of their Jewish or Biblical origins found in the Old Testament. The reasons for this are complicated and obscured by nearly 2000 years of history but nevertheless the facts remain that most of the Christian church today no longer understands how the Bible reckons time or the importance of the Biblical calendar to YHWH’s redemptive plan for mankind.Often our ignorance of the Bible’s holydays and their importance to the Bible’s redemptive message degenerate into name calling. One of the most often heard is “legalism”. In this DVD Mark Biltz looks at legalism and lawlessness as it relates to the Bible’s festivals and explains what I believe to be, not the letter, but the spirit of the law.Although legalism and lawlessness is not the real focus of this DVD, I believe this subject is something that each of us as followers of Yeshua need to take a real hard look. For the past several decades now the “church” has lived under a hyper grace message which has attempted to distance itself from the very roots of a moral code found in the Old Testament. As we look at the culture around us we can see this lack of moral absolutes has reaped a bitter harvest indeed. From the Bible it is clear to me (as Pastor Biltz also shows in this video) that salvation is by the grace of YHWH through faith in the finished work of Yeshua. From that life changing moment our sins are no longer counted against us but that does not absolve us as believers from then living our lives in a manner which honors our Creator. Further there is no law which says we as Christian’s cannot celebrate the Bible’s holydays. In fact, as Mr. Biltz argues this in itself is a form of legalism. For me personally and our family it is not a question of requirement but desire. Nearly a decade and a half ago Winnie and I decided that we wanted our religious holyday observances to be as closely aligned with what the Bible taught as we could get them. We had young children at the time and wanted to be able to teach our children the Biblical origins of our faith as reflected in religious observances kept by the early church. Throughout the year these Biblical holydays remind us of YHWH love and how that love is reflected through the redemptive efforts of His son Yeshua, our Messiah.* * *In summary, the central message of God’s Day Timer is the story of our Creator’s love for mankind. A story which YHWH set in motion at creation when he first wound the gears of his heavenly Rolex. It’s the story of a heavenly calendar and its divine appointments some of which have already been kept and several more which are scheduled. Are you ready to meet your redeemer? What calendar are you watching?
